How to stop the ICANN rule from shutting down your website Print

  • 0

As of January 1, 2014, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has mandated that all ICANN accredited registrars begin verifying the WHOIS contact information for all new domain registrations and Registrant contact modifications.

When you receive an email verification from donoreply@name-services.com please verify your contact information. Failure to verify will result in the shutdown of your domain, website, and email.

What do I do if my domain has a pending ICANN verification?

Once you have been shut down, visiting your domain will show a message that says, "You have reached a domain that is pending ICANN verification". To regain your website and domain then all you need to do is to resend the verification email and verify your contact information. It could take up to 48 hours for your website or email to come back online.
